I dont know if im depressed but i feel like i might be. I always feel like nothing really makes me happy. I laugh now but not that much. I used to smile all the time. I have ADHD and take Adderall for that. I am always tired and feel run down. I tend to lay in bed alot. I never really sleep well. I keep to myself most of the time. My parents always try to hug me and i dont really like being hugged that much. I dont really like to be with people that much. I usally just sit by myself instead of doing things will the other kids. I once felt like cutting myself but when i went to do it i was to scared of damaging my body and of what my parents and people would think of me. My parents tell me all the time that they love me and i know it. There must be something else wrong. Am i depressed? Hoe do i deal with it?

do symptoms suggest a depressive disorder?.
Hello.

Your symptoms do suggest a depressive disorder. And with a history of ADHD, you are prone for depression. There have been a few reports of a possible association of Adderall and depression. These two causes could be considered for your depression right now. The first step you can take is consult your psychiatrist and get your symptoms evaluated and discuss about adding some anti-depressants. You can also consider getting Thyroid testing done. A low functioning thyroid can also lead to symptoms of depression.

A lot of your symptoms could be related to motivation issues, too. While you can achieve over all symptom resolution with the medicines, you might need more work with the psychological issues that might be bothering you. You can go in for Psychotherapy if you think you need help with some issues.

Hope this helps. Take care.
