4 months ago I experienced confusion/short
term memory loss/slurring of
words/searching for words/loss of some
skills/ vertigo/ body tremors and shakes/
unbalanced walking. I had a brain MRI
which showd no MS lesions. I am currently
on Serc for vetigo, and Oxazepam for
shakes and Endep for muscle relaxation. I
continue to have pins and needles in my
hands/fingers and from my ankles to my
toes. My doctor suggests Fibromyalgia
which I was diagnosed with many years ago,
but have not had a lot of trouble with
recently.
He continues to increase my Oxazepam as he
now suggests this is caused from anxiety.
I am currently seeing a Psychologist who
maintains my symptoms are physical.
As I work as an outreach worker, and drive
many kms a day, I have been placed off
work for 1 month, due to my meds. Does
anyone have any suggestions re this?

Shazza, you really need to start your own
thread if you want a response to this.

Med related? Posted: 02-21-08 12:19pm
Shazza,
I saw your post since I've been watching
this one. Anyway, I had this same
experience a few years ago. I went through
the whole range of MRIs, EEGs, and such. I
was told everything from seizures to a
brain tumor, but you know what it was? It
was a bad reaction to Abilify, a med I was
taking at the time. Once I got off of it,
everything returned to normal. You may
want to research all your medications. The
one that affected me had nothing in the
research about the type of reaction I was
having, but it was new on the market also.
Apparently, it had built up in my system
over time and was poisoning me. Thank
goodness I insisted that nothing was wrong
with me and that my true belief was that
it was medication-related because none of
the doctors thought it was possible.
Good luck.
