Q: Do doctors care ?

I ask this in question, as I'm sick of the attitude by the Dr's I've met who aren't open to anything other than 'the way they were taught'.
I had a heart attack on the right side of my heart, had 3 stents put in, where I had two 75% blockages and a 90% blockage. I came out of hospital, been given cardicor 1.35mg, tritace 5mg, nu-seals asprin 75mg and lipitor 80mg. Three and a half years later and with knee problems and pains all over my body i asked could it be the medication, could it be lowered or stopped? My GP told me I was on them for life, he had checked me over and there was nothing wrong. WRONG ANSWER, we are all in control of our own destiny!
I asked why was I light headed, why had I nearly fainted, why was I so tired and lacking in energy? I could hardly function, why was my speech sometimes slurred, my eyesight playing up? Why did I seem to forget what I was talking about mid sentence, if distracted? Why did it feel as if someone was sitting on my chest?
I had ecg's, I had a stress-test (I did 14 minutes, wanted to jog as i just couldn't walk any faster, but its not allowed) I had an echograph, all were clear, so why did I feel this bad? No-one seem to know.
So I've stopped taking the poison that are (lipitor)statins and have now got my energy back, my knee no longer hurts, I still have the chest heaviness, but after research the nett, I feel this could be related to either the beta blockers or ace inhibitor, one or the other I'll give up too. I say this as Dr's don't seem to be willing to treat 'ME', they are treating the symptoms and not the cause.
I drink less than six pints a year, I eat more than five fruit and veg a day, I don't smoke, I walk five miles every day, I've even lost about a stone and a half in weight, since the heart attack. I take supplements to help my body heal. So my argument is, if I'm doing all this too help me, why can't they do their job? Who can we complain to about Dr's? Surely if I've improved myself the medication should now be adjusted accordingly. I want to live life, not just survive. Why do they believe and rely so heavily on medication, surely the manufactures of the medications are going to always tell people what they want to hear and that is being passed on to us.
Any comments, any good Dr's left, any help anywhere in the world?

i understand who you feel!
i had migraine headaches for 10 years, my doctor threw imetrex at me. i found out myself why i was getting the headaches. usually i m researching the net also.
why?
because the doctor is in and out your room in 3 minutes.
the chinese believe that the westeren medicine just cover things up, and they treat the problem. i would have to agree. so research chinese medicine.
im ong an ace inhibitor, and lipitor also. i used to take prozac also, and the doctor told me i can only take 80mg asprin and not the 500mg.
the symptoms im having is my libido is destroyed. i also asked them i flet like i was about to faint in the supermarket, my heart would race once in the blue moon, and there had been a time it seemed like someone was sitting on my chest (pressure near heart). the doctor wrote in down in my file w/o any reasoning.
my concern with you is you had blockage in your hearts arteries. can herbal supplements help you, or keep that from happening again.
i am so afraid to get off my medication because they say that having high blood is a silent killer. i truely believe in herbs.
and another thing is with every medication if it comes with side effects. the doctor doesnt know everything, i had to read my medication to find out what medication is doing what to me.
if you get off your medication, check your blood pressure regularly.
