Q: Do aborted babies go to heaven or hell?

I had an abortion at 10weeks 20 years ago. I now have a beautiful baby girl but somebody said to me the other day "if your unborn baby' soul/spirit is in hell do you deserve to have your daughter?

Unbaptized children used to go to limbo but the Vatican dissolved that heavenly realm a few years ago. So now as I understand it they go to purgatory. It's an interesting question as to whether someone who was never born is guilty of original sin. An aborted baby could theoretically be clean of any worldly sin and they'd get an uncontested free pass into Heaven when the Rapture came.

However since what you aborted was a fetus and not baby, not a conscious creature, Not something that was born and imparted with a soul according to Catholic dogma, it cannot go to heaven or hell. It simply ceases to exist.

Ironically while your aborted fetus cannot go to hell the person who told you it was in Hell is condemned to Hell by all Christian Dogma because one of the few sins that cannot be forgiven through confession is casting God's judgement on another.

Yes definitely! The fact that you aborted your pregnancy rather than bringing a child into the world that you weren't prepared to provide for shows incredible maturity as a parent. Many women would not have had to courage or selflessness to make that decision. I think your daughter is fortunate to have a mother who chose to have her rather than feared not to.
