Q: Dizziness, Weakness, Nausea
asked by: amice on June 14th, 2008

My brother has been having those symptoms for over a year, and now that it has gotten worse he decided to go to the doctor. The dizzy/weak spells are the worst. He gets them randomly, and will become pale and almost pass out. Anyone have any ideas, what could be happening?

Prolonged dizziness, disorientation, nausea and weakness
My husband has been experiencing these symptoms for a couple of months. He has had CAT scans, MRI and the full gambit of testing recently. He has a small amount of fluid on the brain. Otherwise, no clue.

is he staying hydrated? sometimes dehydration can cause weakness/tired feeling and give you dizzy spells..ask him if he's drinking enough water and to start carrying around a bottle he can refill

Thanks for the advice.
Hydrated, yes. He is a health nut. Off to the cardiologist. Electrical problem.

I was going to suggest going to see a cardiologist. This could be an electrical conduction problem in the heart and can be serious but can be treated. Let us know how the visit with the cardiologist goes.

Hi,
Just thought that i share my thoughts with you. i was recently diagnosed with meniere's disease. It affects the inner ear and creates many of the problems/symptoms that your brother is experiencing. To rule that out he must see a otolaryngologist. there is no cure, but managing it with diet prevent frequent attacks. Hope this information helps you and your brother.

I was gonna ask if he had a drinking problem as these are some of the symptoms of withdrawals but I guess not if he's a health nut.

Nausea and dizziness
I was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease which is when you are allergic to gluetin which is found in wheat, rye, and barley. Nausea and dizziness can definitely be some of the symptoms. Celiac disease is under diagnosed and some doctors are not very knowledgeable. First step would be to request a blood test for Celiac disease.
