Q: dizziness and cracking knees

My parents told me that they were going to take me to a doctor, but I was wondering if anybody here could answer my question, or well attempt it anyway.

If I'm relaxed, like sleeping, or laying on the couch watching tv/reading or whatever, is it normal to get up and get lightheaded, feel like you've lost your balance(but don't fall), or be blinded for a moment?

When I say blinded its been everything from slightly to where it fizzles back to normal after a second to where (this morning) I'm blind and even looking in the direction of the light, shaking my head, nothing brings back my vision until I blink it off..

I told my parents, they're not sure what to think.

If I helps any..My knees are bad as well. Everytime I crouch down or stand up they crack, and if I'm sitting on the floor or whereever it hurts to stand up and sometimes I have to use something to stand up.

Also I've had weird cases where I get a pain on my left side..either above my heart area or between my breast and my armpit..

I'm not sure if any of its connected, but I'm just wondering in case its normal, maybe its just "growing pains" I'm not sure...I'm only 15 years old.

It could be that you're not eating enough: low blood sugar can cause dizziness and to be light headed. You could also be dehydrated: drink plenty of water. If not, it could be an ear problem so you should have that checked too: our balance is governed by the fluid in our ears. The blinded part, if not explained by a poor diet or not eating enough, should be checked by an optometrist.

I think that your knee problem is unrelated. Are you a bigger build? If you are carrying excess weight that could be the cause. The cracking isn't really a problem unless it is accompanied by pain. Then you should see a doctor or a chiropractor.

Just saw this, I'm going through almost the exact same thing. My neighbor did too, turned out he had a small hole in his heart, do you have history of heart problems in your family? As for what I have, I'm not sure. I've done several tests and everything seems to come back negative... Oh well, best of luck!
Write me if you feel up to it. Smile
