I have "mild" diverticular disease in the sigmoid colon, which the GI doctor said
should not be causing me any problems. But for 5 years I have had chronic pain in the area of the splenic flexure, a constant feeling of internal pressure, and chronic inflammation of the small intestine. I do not have constipation or diarrhea, or any blood in the stool, and neither do I have any spasms in the colon.

I have had scans, barium xrays and colonoscopy but the cause of the debilitating symptoms has not been identified. Is it possible the diverticular disease could be causing them ?
