I have had disturbing, vivid dreams every night the last few years. Sometimes the events are normal but I'm feeling a great deal of anxiety/panic in my sleep. Sometimes the events are disturbing and the anxiety/panic is intensified. I also have intense anxiety/panic during the day (first few hours of day are worst) that are not related to surounding events. I live a simple life with an everyday routine. I have finally found quite a bit of relief in the day when the doctor put me on Xanax XR twice a day. But, vivid dreams continued. It was like having to sit in front of a TV blaring at you 24 hrs a day. Today the Dr. put me on a Blood pressure med (Minipress) to take at bedtime to see if it helps. (My blood pressure has been slowing rising last few years) Iam 55 yr. old woman, most symptoms came on with menopause. I would appreciate any input from anyone with same problem.

You could try get your doc to put you on a different anti-anxiety, or see a psychologist about it. Your family doc probably isn't equipped to deal with that.
