Usually irregular and rare menstruations are signs of disturbance in the axis hypothalamus-pituitary-ovaries.

If your menstruations had been regular before you started using hormonal contraception then your present cycle irregularities could be a temporary side effect from the evra patches. The body usually needs a few months to establish its normal reproductive functions.

But if your menstruations had been irregular even before you started the hormonal contraception then the problem is not related to the evra-patches but could be located somewhere in the axis hypothalamus-pituitary-ovaries.

You may want to consult your gynecologist about this.
