Just an FYI...the blood test for Celiac disease is VERY expensive. I would know...as I just had it done (results were negative, btw). I'm also told the blood test doesn't always give an accurate result...only an endoscopy will do that. However, just because the test comes back negative, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're not gluten-intolerant. People can have varying degrees of gluten-intolerance, ranging from mild to severe. Those with a mild intolerance may end up with negative blood test results.

Stomach Distress
Very true. My blood test came back positive and I am scheduled for my endoscopy this Thursday since this is the only way they will give a diagnosis. He can always follow the gluten free diet for awhile (but could take up to 1 year for his small intestine to heal if he does have Celiac or a gluten intolerance) and see if his symptoms go away. I know when I followed the gluten free diet for just 24 hours I felt so much better.
