Back Pain Answer A4602
Diagnosis that has been suggested: Bilateral Sciatica and prolpased disc L4/5-S1. The pain is radiating to middle back and Im getting shooting pains from my neck going into my head which are very painful.
Current medical status: MRI last week, doc awaiting results, Had SEI 5 months ago no reduction in pain relief.
Current medical treatment: Had been on 430mg morphine a day, no relief from pain, now on FAntanyl patch 100mg and diclofenac 900mg 3 times a day, diclofenac 50mg 3 times a day and ibruprofen 4 times a day - 800mg Take oramorph for breakthrough pain

The reason for your pain is known (prolapsed disk) so I believe that a surgical operation (diskectomy with vertebral body fusion) will be more helpful than painkillers.

You may want to consult a neurosurgeon about your problem.
