About two years ago i developed some discoloration at the top of my shaft due to friction during masterbation. it is like a one inch ring. The skin is much lighter than the rest of my penis. I know it is not a std because i have not had sex.

For awhile the skin was red and chaffed but it's been two years and the skin is back to normal but just much lighter. i am very self conscious of it.

i have tried to get some sun to it but after a few days i stopped because i didnt want to eventually get skin cancer on my penis.

is there anything i can do to restore my natural penis color?

Thank you for your question on ehealthforum.com

A change in the color of skin of genitalia is normal after puberty. In colored races, it becomes much darker than whites. Frictional activity can also bring some change in the color and it is usually dark color change. Lightening of skin is rare. If you experience any itching, increase in the size of discolored area and elevation, then it is a good idea to have it examined by your doctor. Please observe for any changes. Thank you.
