Thick and creamy discharge sounds like it could be some type of infection. Is there any odor or other symptom or is it simply a discharge?

Congratulations, you discovered one of the keys to your fertility by yourself!

During your menstrual cycle your discharge change in color, consistency and feeling. This is because of your hormones changing to allow ovulation and menstruation.

This discharge comes from your cervix and it is the cervix's way of keeping itself closed and clean or getting ready to receive sperm and allowing it in.

After menstruation you should be dry with very little discharge. As you get closer to ovulation it will become moist, sticky and white/creamy. During ovulation it becomes thin, clear and stretchy like egg whites. There can also be a lot of it. After ovulation it gets dryer and stickier again until it stops and menstruation happens.

If you search for 'cervical mucus' you will find a lot of information on the internet.
