Q: Discharge from penis

I have an enlarged Prostate of which I will need a TURP in the next few weeks.
However I went into water retention and stayed a few days in hospital under observation, I am now fitted with a capheter and a prescription of Ciprofloxacin. However, a few weeks before I went into retention I had been sexually active with a number of women, but I played it safe with them all. Now I am staring to discharge a yellow green pus which stained my underwear every day.
I have done some research online and although I don't have pain in the testicles the symptoms point to Gonorreah. I have been told it could be that my bodies defences are trying to reject the foreign body namely the capheter tube, but I dunno about that one. Now I am worried that if the test swab comes back as the clap whether or not the surgeon will postpone my TURP operation.
Any help would be most welcome

Thanks
Pete

Message I got from a doctor as follows:-

With frank pus being discharged from the penis, most likely you have urinary tract infection by traditional bacteria like E.coli, Pseudomonas etc. Catheter placement along with obstruction can be a precipitating cause for the infection. Gonorrhea or Chlamydia is also a possibility but less likely. It is possible the infection may be resistant to Cipro and you may need another antibiotic. Regardless of the type of infection, the TURP procedure can only be performed when the infection is completely eliminated. Even if it is Gonorrhea, infection can be treated, and TURP procedure can be performed, although it may be delayed.
