Well. I will begin by saying I am a 17 year old female. About two months ago I had surgery because I have a while cheesy discharge from my belly button alond with pain all around it. They think it was a cyst in the end but are not sure since they never seen anything like this. I have no belly button ring but had my appendix out 2 yrs. ago. Before surgery they took an MRI and found fluid in my stomach. I also have a small kidney on one side that I learned I had years ago along with alot of other problems. Lately I have had lower back pain only when I urinate and have been having to urinate constantly. Now I have also noticed the discharge coming out of my belly button again that is not suppose to happen. They ruled out Uracial Cyst. My question is what do you think this is. I havent gone back to see the surgeon but my regular doctor said I need to and probably will be sent to Boston. What would they do next. Im getting the feeling from the doctors is that they have no clue what all this is. What kind of diagnostic tests will they run?

Can you describe the surgery you had 2 months ago? What kind of intervention did doctors do? What did doctors find during that surgery?

There are a number of tests that can be run from ultrasound , CT Scan, Lasix renal scan, 24 hour collection and blood work. A cystoscopy.
Are you following up with a urologist or nephrologist?
Have they ruled out a UTI or kidney infection?

I know there's a lot questions, just hoping to be able to help you.

Are you set up to see a doctor in Boston yet? What type of doctor do they want you to see?

The surgery was an exporitaory surgery. The surgeon was looking for anything from the uracial cyst to a tumor. They honestly have no clue what this could be. After the surgery they assume this was a cyst and he thinks it wouldnt come back but it has. When they did the surgery they went through my old incision for my appendix. They did it laproscopicly. when he read off the report after sending it to the lab he said it was he thinks a cyst and he hopes it wont come back. He really sounded like he had no clue what this was. They also did a ultrasound before the surgery finding the fluid and then did the MRI.

If surgeon who opened your abdomen and explored the area around and under the bellybutton didn't find anything then it is very hard for me to diagnose your problem. If the cyst wasn't removed completely it may grow up again.
Urachial cyst is remaining from the embryonal structure called urachus which is a communication duct between the bladder and yolk sack during the earlier stages of the embryonic development.
Another cyst-type can remain from an embryonic structure called "ductus omophalo-entericus" which is a communication duct between intestines and yolk sack during the early stages of embryonic development, too.
Both ducts passes trough the umbilicus and they normally disappear in the latter stages of the fetal development so they shouldn't be present when the baby is born. But in rare cases ducts or their remaining (cysts) can stay present in the adult body. If the cyst communicates with the bellybutton there will be discharge coming out from the bellybutton.
I hope that doctors in Boston will help you more.
