Q: dificulty getting pain meds

I have suffered for 15 years trying every form of pain relief except for narcotics. I must say that narcotics are the only relief I have found effective enough to give me some sort of ray of hope. After trying a 15 mg oxycontin I felt as though I could function normally for several hours. I have however found that a lot of doctors look at you like your crazy. I had medical records from when I had surgery, scars, reciepts for all kinds of treatments, but to my chagrin I am treated like a leper. How is a legitimately worthy person able to get what they need to feel like they have a life?

after my first surgery at age 30 i was looked at the same way when i said hey i still hurt and am in pain and i couldent even walk and they still looked at me as a druggie. he passed me off on another doc who eventually did surgery and found i had shards od disc from my discectomy floating around causing pain well i still hurt got passed off again well in all ive had 4 everyone needed. docs seem to think we are all wanting meds when wwe just want to be pain free. i know those days for me are long gone but it was nice when i found someone who believed me. i go to a PAIN MANAGEMENT doc and he only gives whats necessary no more. and you get drug tested everyother month. find a pain management doc thats who will help and take every file x-ray mri you have and show them you are real. its because of the abusers that we get this treatment.good luck. and go on disability and get medicare.
