I am 15 year old girl and it's becoming impossible to lose weight.I go to the gym at least 5 times a week for an hour and do like real cardio exercises (obviously not the entire 1 whole hour) and i lift on weight machines as well. I don't eat unhealthy, I actually eat healthy and eat much less than I used to. But I haven't even lost a pound and its been 2 months. I also have a lot of problems with my periods happening on time. Could this be causing a problem..like could there be something wrong with my hormones? And i know I might be putting on muscle but I'm not getting stronger either.. if i try to lift weights greater than i usually have been doing for the past few months...I'm unable to do it. I have a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks but I would just like to maybe know before. Thanks

I have also tried Acai.

Have you tried cutting back on the regular portions of your meal? My friend tried this technique with regular exercise and she lost weight;)

I would stop lifting weights if I were you, It's not healthy for girls. You don't say how much is your weight, if you are already in decent shape do crunches everyday, that should help.

lol. lifting weights is not unhealthy for girls. duh. It's good for you. You just have to lift really light weights to get firmed up and burn fat. Obviously even if you lifted a lot of weight it wouldn't be unhealthy either, it would make you bulk up a lot though, and I assume you don't want to look masculine. Try lifting 15-20lbs and doing reps of 15 3xs every other day. It speeds up your metabolism when you break down the muscle tissues, and it helps you burn fat a lot faster. Lifting weights is very healthy for everyone. It just depends on what you are trying to accomplish when it comes to how much you want to lift.

P.S. Working out can actually affect your period quite a bit. When I was your age, and I am 31 now, I used to run like 3 miles a day. I was also in volley-ball, and our coach made us to a lot of hard-core drills. Great work out, but I actually would barely have a period i worked out so often. I found it wo be very strange, but kind of liked it at the same time.
