Hi,
I noticed that I had breathing problems when I was in college. It wasn't bad as I was still able to play college sports, but I could not play basketball because I would always run out of wind. It didn't cause me many problems so I ignored it.

Now I am 50 and have had breathing problems for a few years. I smoked for about 15-17 years, but have been smoke free for the last 15 years. My symptoms come and go. I feel like I can't get a deep breath and my upper chest feels uncomfortable. I had a stress test and my heart is okay. I had a respitory test at the hospital and it came back normal. The breathing problems bother me for hours, then dissappear for awhile, then come back. I have tried advair, pulmacort, symbicort, and a nebulizer. Advair worked for awhile, but isnt working now. Prednizone works okay, but the problems return quickly when I stop taking it.

I am frustrated and feeling fatigued. Anyone have suggestions or thoughts on my situation?
Thank you,
gettys

Have you ever been able to see a doctor while the breathing problem was occurring? They may be able to diagnose it better if they could see it while it's happening. I did find a good website about breathing problems that maybe will help you: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/breathi ngproblems.html

Have you ever been tested for Asthma?
