Q: Difference between sinusitis and rhinitis ?

Prior to going for FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery), my CT Scan report showed I had Left Maxillary Sinusitis, Allergic Rhinitis, Mild bowing of the nasal septum (deviated nasal septum), and Hypertrophied Nasal Turbinate. What is the difference between sinusitis and allergic rhinitis? Also, the difference between sinusitis and rhinitis? Between Rhinitis and Allergic rhinitis? Does allergic rhinitis go away after FESS? What are the symptoms of allergic rhinitis? What are the symptoms of rhinitis? How do the symptoms of rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis differ from each other and in what aspects are they similar to each other? I am very keen to know. Someone please answer. MAY GOD BE YOUR GUIDE.

sinusitis &rhinitis
this is my belief only but the first is external & the second is from within(digestive), both are due to a nutritional inbalance. i have experienced & treated both as a servere sufferer with complete nasal blockage(from polyps)for myself successfully without surgical intervention!

I agree with you
timeisshort, I have already had the surgery back in July 2008 and I am feelimg siginificant imrovement. I agree with you, though, that surgery is not the best option if it can be treated with other options. However, my condition was so bad that I had to go for it. I understand, although my sinuses are fuctioning better now, it's surely not going to be as good as God had created them earlier. No doctor can do that. Having said these, I would still like to know about what you described as "it is a nutritional treatment & not just spiritual" in your first reply. Also I am not quite clear what "this is my belief only but the first is external & the second is from within(digestive), both are due to a nutritional imbalance" means in your 2nd reply. Do you mean Sinusitis is external and Rhinitis is from within(digestive)? I also would take interest in knowing how you treated both as a severe sufferer with complete nasal blockage(from polyps)for yourself successfully without surgical intervention, of course, only if you are also interested in explaining to me since I guess I have asked to many questions! Take Care!

the problem is
most nasal surgery when relative to polyps only has a non reoccurance rate of 50%. I was facing a $3000 out of pocket expences after medical insurance cover to have this surgery to remove the polyps that were causing total blockage of my nostrils at a 50% chance of reocurrance this was too big a risk to take fianancially as i didn't have that to start with.So i thought what is it that caused this in the processes of my life & researched to find it was because of allergies but what caused the alergies etc & it traces back to mineral balance within our bodies. this affects our digestion, our absorbtion, & the function of the thyroid which controls all the hormones & ultimately the function of our bodies on a celular level. So how do i get the minerals, pure, natural, unprocessed salt, not on it's own it must be, to be absorbed & utilised properly, ingested with the correct ratio of filtered water, basically this is how i have achieved my gains in health. This is the nutritional means, The Spiritual is through Prayer, the problem is Jesus said if we have the faith of a mustard seed we would move mountains. I don't see many mountains moving because of someones faith.
Yes first & second is as you sumised as is your perception of internal & external.
if you need more indepth info on my self treatments you are welcome to send me a private message through this site. there is quite a lot of detail for me to cover & i don't always get a chance to review the posts .
May God bless all in there persuances of health.

what moves most peoples mountain is money....and that is how I see most of these "quick" fix herbal supplement regimens...for women, it is difficult to try many of these so called natural cures due to hormonal imbalances that many of these supplements will cause, the very thing we try to balance....so perhaps most people on these forums need to do their selling on a corner somewhere....and keep it out of the forums where many try to get help sincerely.....i'm speaking in general terms, not directed at anyone....just sayin

It's obvious that money moves bnosey, maybe you should do some research to what people are offering at no charge before you shoot yourself in the foot & choke on your ankle, that way you would understand about the correct balance of minerals & the fact that the "pill" for women is the only thing that makes mineral balance for women different to men, heres some more free info for you, an educational site that actually teaches us all about how to balance your minerals. & another bit of free info is "vital functions of salt in the body"
Finally if you bothered to read some of MY posts you would understand that the results & suggestions that are offered also explain the shear frustration the medical community have caused when they have repeatedly thrown their hands in the air & proclaimed in their own frustrations that they can do nothing to help me. My efforts here are only to offer my time & my experiences & knowledge at no charge or commitments on behalf of the person willing to try to take their health in their hands when a lot of people don't have the option of fianance to gain health repair.
May even God Grant you a blessing!

Regardless of what you are doing here does not change the fact that supplements by women especially need to be really fine tuned, as the hormonal balance of women are different than for men, I can attest to the fact that supplements from very high end dealers have caused strange hormonal balance problems for many women...everyone these days are trying to make money on the internet, and know that there are those who are desperate to feel better and doctors can't always make that happen...even when the FDA regulates a med it can still come with horrendous side affects, such as the antibiotic Avelox which is being given to many now to combat sinus infections...this medicine is really some bad stuff that needs to come off the market....I took one pill and developed a horrible pain in my achilles tendon, stupidly I saw the side affect on the paperwork but still used it....I would never sell a product to people that could not be verifiably safe....again just sayin, and not pointing fingers...why so sensitive?

sensitive, you come across and seem to be attacking the one thing that we are talking about & automatically assume that we are selling something & want to accuse us of doing so if this is not your intension you should word your conversations differently, & i'll bet you haven't bothered to check out the site i recommended for you & any one else where you can gain responsibility for your own health & balance your mineral inbalance. The trouble with people they want someone else to fix their problems for them. I figure it this way, if a person is sick enough they will do something about it ! If not they should stop whinging because there is always someone else who is in a worse condition who doesn't whinge!
