Okay, so I test to see if I ovulate while I am taking the pill using test strips. This is my second month on Sprintec. I tested on Saturday and the second line was dark, not as dark as the control line, but my lines are usually dark. I tested with my first urine of the day, could this have effected the test? I also tested a little later and the line was a lot lighter. I don't know what to do. I am freaking out about possibly being pregnant. I have had VERY thick, lotion-like cervical mucus all month and have been having little cramps. My last period was very heavy and I passed the largest clot ever for me.
Basically, does using the first urine make a difference, and could I be pregnant?
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Using the early morning first urine sample to test is ideally the right sample if you are testing for hormone related occurrences. Altered vaginal discharge and abdominal cramps could suggest changes of pregnancy. Consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation and assistance to look for the underlying cause for the symptoms that you describe. Treatment as needed (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you to regulate periods. Be regular in taking your birth control pills at scheduled time daily. If pregnancy gets ruled out and you are worried about pregnancy, use back-up protection while having intercourse for additional protection against pregnancy.
