I have a directive repositioning splint for the day and another splint with wings or something for night to prevent my jaw from going back. I've been using both for about 2.5 weeks. My bite has changed but my symptoms are still there. I have a dull/burn pain discomfort in my mouth, throat, and stomach. My dentist diagnosed me with tmj by visual inspection and with transcranial xrays.

Any thoughts?

Hi wplush,

During my treatment of TMJ I have had two different splints, but from what you described I don't think I have had either.
Could you maybe post a picture so I could get a better idea?

I would get a second opinion if your condition has not improved after a month with your current treatment. My experience has been if your treatment is going to help then you will get positive results in a fairly short period. Good luck.
