I have been diagnosed with Diastasis Recti. I have looked up the condition on the web and they all refer to women that have recently given birth. I gave birth to my last child 9 years ago. She was my 7th child.

My doctor has just said that we shall keep an eye on it. It this normal? Surely if the muscles have not gone back together after 9 years then they may not go back together. Could this be dangerous to my organs beneath the skin if the muscles do not knit back?

diastasis recti
Diastasis recti can cause back pain, abdominal weakness, and bulging of the abdomen. Proper rehab exercises can address these issues, even many years post childbirth.

What sort of rehab exercises do you recommend? My doctor has only told me not to do regular sit-ups!
