My 4 year old Son has been being sick every night since christmas! He had chickenpox and since then has had on off diarrhoea and sickness every night. Ive stopped him eating after 18:00 and he only has orange squash before bedtime at around 19:30. Just Yesterday he was sick after a meal which hasn't happened before, and was fine all night. But this morning he was sick again and hadnt yet eaten. I took him to my GP who gave me gaviscon and told me to give him a 5ml spoonfull before bedtime but this does not seem to have any effect. what could be wrong with him? Im getting very worried as he is losing weight. And it seems to have gone on far to long. I would be very gratfull for your second opinion as to why my son is having these problems.

Thank you for your question on ehealthforum.com

Chicken pox can hepatitis and jaundice. Bowel alterations and sickness can result from this. But, this is very rare. Other rare problems of chickenpox are respiratory distress.

It is quite probable that present symptoms are related to another problem and needs investigating. Please consult your doctor again for complete examination and investigations like ultrasound scan if necessary. Thank you.
