Im currently trying to choose a birth control method and feel stressed out by all the alternatives!
I have mild to moderate IBS and often get moderate diarrehoa when I am stressed. This usually happens during the day or first thing in the morning. If I decided to go on the pill, and took it in the evening, would having diarrehoa the next day impact its effectiveness do you think?
The other option I'm considering is the nuvaring (or possibly implanon) so I would be interested to hear anyone's experiences on it.

Thanks!

Diarrhea which lasts for more than a day can lessen the effectiveness of the birth contro pill. While you have diarrhea, you would need to use an alternate form of birth control until your stomach problem was resolved. I recommend that you try a different form of hormonal birth control such as the patch, the Depo provera shot, NuvaRing, or Mirena IUS.
