The narrowing and dilation of the pupils is regulated by the autonomous nervous system. Artificially, dilation of pupils is usually caused by some medications that dilate the pupils or by some products (drops) containing substances that can dilate the pupils.
If none of the previously is mentioned, then you might want to visit an ophthalmologist for eye exam and to check if some serious neural disorder might be causing this condition.
