General Q and A Answer A6609
The symptoms you have reported (aching body, fever) are not specific enough to suggest possible diagnoses, as these symptoms are present during many types of disorders. However, a case of diarrhea might indicate intestinal infection.

Taking into consideration that your wife just got over the flu, you might be experiencing a similar type of flu, perhaps combined with some other infection which would explain the more severe symptoms. If you vomit several times, then the condition might be more serious and might require emergency medical care to rule out other serious conditions. Blood tests, X-ray and gastroscopy (visualization method in which the gastric cavity is seen through fiber optics) may be requested along with a physical examination. You can see you doctor to begin to seek a diagnosis and start treatment based on the results of the above tests.
