Q: Diagnosing dark spots on the foreskin
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 26th, 2009
After being irritated by Hirsuties papillaris genitalis for a couple of years, I have noted many dark spots on the foreskin near the head of my penis. I have checked with a local Dermatologist who said this is normal and if in doubt, he could send a part of my skin to the lab for further examination (which takes a tiny surgery).

It is painless, I have been monitoring it since early last year and they have not really spread or grow in size. And I didnt have sex for a long time before it happened.

I am 27 years of age, Chinese.

Appreciate very much for your advice.

It is hard to say what the dark spots on the foreskin are without seeing them. Since the dark spots do not multiply or become darker and larger, it seems likely that you might be experiencing only hyperpigmentation that does not need further treatment.

However, taking a piece of the skin for a biopsy is the final examination that can tell for sure if the dark spots are actually a pathological process.
