The bumps in the vaginal area might be a skin inflammation. It is very important if there is also redness around the bumps, if the bumps tend to increase their number, and if they contain pus or water-like fluid. A presence of itching or burning is also important.
What caused the skin inflammation is hard to say without a visual inspection.
They might be caused by an infection. The skin infection is more likely to be associated with a sense of itching or burning, whereas the bumps might contain pus if caused by bacteria. If caused by genital herpes, the bumps might contain water-like fluid.
All these conditions are more likely if you recently had intercourse. If the partner has the same bumps in the genital area, it is almost certain that you have a skin infection.
However, the bumps might be caused by inflammation of the skin glands related to the hair similar to the pimples in other areas of the body.
You might want to visit your gynecologist or a dermatologist (depending on the exact area of the bumps) to check what might have caused the bumps and for adequate treatment to be prescribed.
