Q: Diagnosing blood in the sperm
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 28th, 2009
I worked abroad in US Military facilities in an isolated island. Recently, after I ejaculated I noticed that my sperm has blood on it. I tried to ignore it thinking that after 3 days it will be back to normal. Yesterday I masturbate again and it has again. Is there any suggestions other than going to the doctor coz going to the doctor means everybody knows what happened to me? What may be caused of blood on my sperm? Thanks you in advance for your professional advice.

Blood in the sperm could be the result of infection or a tumor on certain of the genital organs: prostate, seminal vesicles, ductus deferens, epididymis, or testicles. The urethra can also be affected but in that case blood will be present in the urine, too. You need a physical examination of the genital organs (inspection, palpation and digital rectal examination) and laboratory examination of the blood and sperm.

You have to consult a doctor as soon as possible because there is no other way to diagnose and treat your problem.
