Q: Diagnosed with Herpes

I was diagnosed with Herpes but the doctor I went to didn't do any actual testing just looked at the raw sore spot on my perineum and said its for sure herpes. She has prescribed me an antiviral medication that seems to be easing the tenderness but could this be anything else? I looked at images of Herpes online and it looks like nothing I have. It just hurts to touch, have pee on it or sit.

I would definitely go see a doctor that will actually run a test - this way you will know for sure what is wrong and have that sense of closure! - i've never heard of a doctor just visually diagnosing something. It's ridiculous! - best of luck to you deary!

i know of a few people who were diagnosed with herpes with the doctor just looking at it. i dont think the internet pictures give a good account of what it could look like.
there is a very informative website called herpes.com that tells you everything you need, it also have a dating site for people with herpes, a support group, chat line, and much more.
private message me if you would like to talk.

you need a new doctor, one that won't run tests is way to lazy
