Q: diagnosed with genital warts

I just got diagnosed with genital warts a few days ago, and i am scared to no end. can some one please talk to me. No one i know has this. My boyfriend so far has no break outs. I was given a presription of some medicine but im not sure im applying it correctly. my gyno didnt sit me down and talk to me. she just told me i had it and left. can someone please help.
