have been primarily diagnosed with a hilar mass. test next week to perform a biopsy. Lymph nodes on both left and right side are inflamed. The mass is on the left side. What will possibly will be the treatment/surgery and what will possibly be my prognosis. Please help. My mind is very disturbed with this news and have only one 28 year old who is deeply concerned along with other family members.
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. It is extremely difficult to predict about the prognosis of the disease without firstly knowing the diagnosis. The diagnosis will depend upon the biopsy of the hilar mass.
It could possibly be a malignancy of the lung. Sarcoidosis is another possibility. The common treatment options are surgery/chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Please consult a chest physician for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
