Q: Diabetic related skin ulcers
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 15th, 2008
I have a strange hard, solid white growth between my toes that is causing me pain all the way to the top of my foot. it started hurting 4 months ago however I only noticed the growth three-four weeks ago. The growth is not raised up but sort of sinks into my foot and a hole has developed in the middle of it. It has started to go up the side of my toe now and it roughly the size of a dime. what is this?

Nerve damage/pain manegment-percocet10-650(x2) colon disease(diticulosis?)-miralax(17mg) acid reflux-prevacid(30mg). high cholesterol-zocor(40mg) allergies-claritin(10mg),singular(10mg). Irregular heart beat diabetes-glucovance(5mg-500)x2

According to the major symptom you described (solid white growth between toes with a hole in the middle) you might be experiencing a skin ulcer accompanied with a fungal infection. One of the complications in diabetes is the disturbed circulation throughout the body due to aggravated atherosclerosis. The minor blood vessels in: kidneys, heart muscles, brain and feet are most affected. The decreased circulation leads to lack of local immune responses, which accompanied with the moisture provides excellent conditions for a fungal infection to develop. However, many other conditions can cause these symptoms and a visit to a dermatologist might help in solving the problems described above.
