I was recently struck by a car. I have diabetis and have been told I have a dvt and my knee according to MRI impression, gradelll medial collateral ligament injury at the femoral attachment, suspected oblique tear posterior horn of lateral meniscus, trace joint effusion. My question is how long will it take to heal being that I am diabetic? Also, I have a sprain ankle and I have swelling in ankle, knee and I am limping with much pain.
Thank you. Sad

To promote the best healing possible, you can start by taking these steps:

Follow your meal plan every day.
Be physically active every day.
Take your diabetes medicine every day.
Check your blood glucose as recommended.

The best way to prevent heart and blood vessel disease is to take good care of yourself and your diabetes. What did the orthopedist tell you in terms of how long the ligaments take to heal?
