A very close friend of mine, 27 years of age just recently loss her baby. The child was due Oct 15. Prior to the pregancy, the mother was diagnosed with diabetes and was doing fine handling her intake of food and liquids. Upon the pregnancy, I am sure she was counseled on ways to keep herself healthy. What I don't know is if she was told that her physical issues might hurt the baby. Is it possible that this 8 1/2 month child could have died because of insulin - lack of or too much of in the mothers' system? I just don't know enough about how or why babies die in the uterus. It is so painful and difficult for the mothers and fathers. I would like to help them as much as I can.
