Hi everyone. Since I was 16, (now 21) my nose has really bothered me. It started out with breathing / sinus problems, and I went to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor. He told me that I had a deviated septum. I had a surgery, and after recovery, my nose was still really messed up. The surgeon said he could fix it, so I was unfortunately convinced and had another surgery. This surgery didn't fix the problem either. I decided it wasn't worth the trouble and said I would just put up with it. Well, earlier this year in February, I saw a different doctor. He convinced me that my nose could be fixed. The surgery was done, the recovery was the worst experience of my life. Even with strong pain medication, I was in extreme discomfort. I told myself that I never wanted to go through that again. Well, I will probably have to. My septum is so deviated, twisted, bent, in all sorts of directions (I can't even find a septum like mine on the internet after many hours of searching.) I am tired of it, and I am looking to have a fourth surgery. This time, I will try to find a plastic surgeon to do it, not for cosmetic reasons, so my insurance will cover it. My breathing is impaired, and I can feel the bends of my septum, which makes me very uncomfortable and anxious. Provided in the link below is a picture of my septum. It is much worse that it looks. The top half if bent at a 90 degree angle, and the bottom half is bent in an odd fashion that can't be seen by looking at my nose, only by touching it. Does anyone know a very good plastic surgeon that could fix my nose? I am willing for the entire septum to be removed, and reconstructed with cartilage from my ear and bone from my ribs. I am that desperate. I live in North Carolina, so any plastic surgeon from NC or nearby states would be preferable. Thanks for reading my long post, and here is the a picture of my nose at a sort-of top down angle:
