Q: Determining loss of virginity
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 24th, 2009
I have not have any sexual intercourse but both my partners have been talking about. We're both new, didn't have any past relationships and no STDs. We checked everything before. We have been together more over 2 years. Yesterday, something unexpected. I don't know what happened, but I am pretty sure that he didn't put it all the way. Just against my vagina, he was penetrating little my little. And it was hurting. He told me that it was not all the way and now I am having an excess blood in my vagina. I could see it dropping. I am so scared. I woke up and pajama was wet with blood. I just have my period. I wasn't ready to loose my virginity. I want to make sure if I am still a virgin.

The hymen is located at the entrance of the vagina, so the possibility that it was damaged and caused bleeding can not be ruled out even if the penis was not completely in the vaginal cavity.

The only way to know for sure is to visit your gynecologist and have him examine you.
