Ovulation and Ovaries Answer A5423

Given the data you provided (length of regular menstrual cycle: 32 days), your ovulation is on the 18th day of the cycle, beginning to count from the first day of onset of the menstrual period-first day of bleeding (32-14=18). Since you discontinued the mini-pills (progesterone-only oral contraceptive pills) before ovulation and had an intercourse while ovulating, there is a chance that you might be pregnant. It is recommended that you repeat the pregnancy test 5-7 days after your period is late, because urine home pregnancy beta-HCG tests are most reliable (with 3% of false-negative results) if performed a week after your period is late. This means that tests provide their highest sensitivity of 97%, 7 days after a missed period.
