Lupus is an autoimmune disease of the connective tissue, in which the immune system does not recognize properly the antigens from its own body and tries to fight them. This causes chronic inflammation and damage to the tissue.
The exact cause for lupus is not determined yet. Scientists and researchers debate about the genetic factors, environmental factors, illness, and medications as possible causes for lupus. Various of these factors are present in the body or the body is exposed to them for a longer period and yet the lupus does not manifest itself. What triggers the lupus is not known either.
Therefore, no evidence-based data from medically independent scientific research can be found about clips triggering the lupus.
You might want to talk with surgeons if the clips need to be replaced.
