Q: desperate to gain weight

i have heard that you gain weight by not eating for a while and then eat a huge meal and eat it fast...........i need to know if this is true.......!!??

It is 6:30pm and i ate breakfest at 11:30am i plan to eat a big meal at 700pm or 830pm. Im confused b.c im not sure if i didnt eat in a long enuff time period so that my body goes into starvation mode or whatever. its my metabolism and should i excerises? it says not too. i eat whole grains...whole wheat bagels, bread, fruit, pasta! i cant gain weight!!! im 15 and sooo desprete u hav no idea so plz dont say " why... ur so lucky"! Im not sure if i shud go with out eating for a day and eat tommrow im confuzd. HeELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Honey, everyone's body type is different and I'm not sure your reason, and I won't ask because you said not to, but you are still growing your body needs all the nutrients it can get, eating whole grains is great, but don't eat so much of other unhealthy foods, you might not physically see a difference but internally you can get high cholesterol and other sickness. Just relax and stop stressing yourself - that could be another reason you're not gaining weight. You should try eating three full meals a day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - have healthy snacks in between. But try not to skip a meal for a day, I doubt if it'll work.

yes but im soooo desprete and i heard that if you dont eat ur body will go into starvation mode and ur metabolism will be slower and then when i eat again,,,,, it will b stored as fat. I really neeeeed to see a difference and i dont care if its wrong i eat fine ........ i just neeeedd to kno if its a true fact or not

That's not true! If you want to gain weight, you should eat short meals SEVERAL times a day rather than, say, 3 "huge" meals. It's always down to your calorie requirement, metabolism, and genetics. You have to make sure you are taking more calories than you are burning. Eat those foods that are full of calories (NOT junk food), drink plenty of water, get sufficient sleep, and keep yourself stress free (don't think about this weight issue). If possible, let me know your height and weight and I want see if at all you need to gain weight. Don't plan for starving for a long hours and then going for a large meal. I just don't know who gave you that idea.

you want to loose weight but you talk about nutrition and wheat/whole grain.
if you live with me you will difinately gain weight. dont starve yourself i tired that and i lost weight. so your thinking wrong.
this is bad to say but i used to eat everything fried...french fries fired chicken, fried pork chops. eating carbohydrates will really blow you up like mashpotaotes, mac cheese, rice a roni, any kind of starch. and eating at fast food resturants.
ive gained 20-30 pounds in two years living in florida. when i get off the bus im surrounded by fast food resturnats. mcdonalds had a summer special hambrugers for 69cents. i would eat one on my way home.
when i m depressed i think about food, i eat it as it comforts me, and that's why i gained so much weight.
i was on the depo shot and it made me hungery all the time. i would eat dinner at 5pm and im hungry afterwards, i would eat again at 12-1 or 2am in the morning.
i've gained that weight so fast, i had problems with my period, i have high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
so theres your double edge sword.

Have you gone to the doctor about this? If you are really underweight, maybe you have some kind of hormonal imbalance. You could be hyperthyroid or something.

Otherwise, all you can really do is be as healthy as you can and when you get a bit older, things will even out. Just don't make yourself sick trying to gain weight.

how old are you, how tall are you and how much do you weight?
some people are naturally thin. i wish i was petite b/c i think they have cuter outfits at the clothing stores.
one other thing, the bible tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalms 139:14

so you are beautiful the way that you are. it sounds like your eating healthy, and i totally commend you for that.

You need to eat, healthy eating is the best option.

I suggest eating your regular 3 meals a day and in between your meals add a serving of oatmeal. So between breakfast and lunch you have oatmeal, between lunch and dinner, and before you sleep at night.

Eat plenty of protein and carbs like chicken and rice for your normal meals. Rice is great for bulking up. Milk is good too. And drink plenty of water.

Green veges, while they do not directly affect your weight are good for your digestion which is important for your body to make use of all the food you eat.

94/50 is not so bad. Do you suffer any symptoms?

I think you should definitely exercise. It can help raise your blood pressure and gain muscle.

You may want to take some vitamins too.

Low blood pressure (hypotension) is pressure so low it causes symptoms or signs due to the low flow of blood through the arteries and veins. When the flow of blood is too low to deliver enough oxygen and nutrients to vital organs such as the brain, heart, and kidney, the organs do not function normally and may be permanently damaged.

Unlike high blood pressure, low blood pressure is defined primarily by signs and symptoms of low blood flow and not by a specific blood pressure number. Some individuals may have a blood pressure of 90/50 with no symptoms of low blood pressure and therefore do not have low blood pressure. However, others who normally have high blood pressure may develop symptoms of low blood pressure if their blood pressure drops to 100/60.

i told my doc i just get dizzy if i move to fast so excerisising........hm what type u think i should to i really want to get a bigger butt and legs*****
and i will start taking vitamensss cuz i dont want organ damage!!!

i have too much butt and too much legs. is your mom or dad tall and thin?
i dont know what's wrong with you, you have a model size body. it is so many cute outfits you can get into that i cant. i get mad everytime i see the 5-7-9 store. which are small women sizes.
i am over weight and i live in the sun shine state. i love the beach. but i wear a big-girl bathing suite that looks like i mini dress.
everytime i step outside i make sure i look good.
i wish we can change weights since you act like your unhappy with yours. i m going to send you my pic.

its a self conicious thing and the comments i get. in highschool u see all girls just wearing skirts and u just think wow perfect body b.c shes not under or over weight she has boobs and a butt i have none and im super skinny NO guy likes that and thats true! I kno i complain to much cuz people have it worse.

Some people are late bloomers.

I suggest low impact leg exercises such as squats, knee raises, kicks, Pilates, etc.
