I am going to move this to the postnatal forum for you. I think you will get better answers there.

Whenever I read posts like these it brings back such vivid and painful memories.
I too suffered from severe depression during and after my pregnancy. Add sleep deprivation to the equation and you are heading for a breakdown.

The only advice that I have for you is to go see a doctor as soon as possible. I mean it. He can prescribe some antidepressants for you that will be safe to use if you are lactating.

Please feel free to pm me if you need to talk. It might take a while for me to answer as I don’t think we are in the same time zone, but I will answer as soon as I get the message.

Congratulations on the new baby for one, and two, give yourself a break! You are doing the hardest job in the world and anyone taking on that task is brave. You will get used to the baby, but you must also get enough sleep. If you think your baby is crying too much and not letting you rest, maybe you can post here about what the problems are and I might be able to help.

One months is about where PPD sets in, so if you think that this time is really too much to handle, you should see your doctor, and like Beline said, get you an anti-depressant to help you cope with the job you are doing. You wouldn't want to hurt yourself or the baby and then be sorry for that. I know it sounds really impossible that any one would want to do things like that, but I can tell you from personal experience that it really is something that can happen. The good thing is too that you most likely would not remain on anti-depressants forever, just until the hard times are over. Once you start getting more sleep, your life will be worlds better!

As for the leg pain, your mechanics are probably really out of wack from your pregnancy. Pain meds will help but not solve the problem. I would recommend a mechanical activator (make sure you find that specific treatment) from a chiropractor. It is much more gentle than the regular methods they are notorious for. I am usually able to alleviate my sciatica with this. For you it might take a few adjustments since your hormones are still making your joins very flexible.

If you have any more questions, we're here for you Smile Remember: hardest job in the world, brave one.....
