The depression and feeling of devastation passes.I was at first but now that I feel healthier and have all the correct information I know that HIV is no different than many other illnesses.You just have to take care of yourself,mentally and physically and you will be fine.

i dont think im depressed as much my only problem is 90% of the day i'm thinking in my head "hiv"...even when im talking to people i'm thinking "hiv", and sometimes i forget for about 3 minutes and then BAM!!!!! it hits me suddenly. i wake up and its the first think on my mind and when i lie down its the last...will this ever pass?????

It moves to the background but its always there... I am sure people with cancer or diabetes or crones disease also have there ills on there minds 90% of the time.I would say I have it on my mind about 40% of the time now.It used to be 100%.

12 years ago..I think. I finally found out 4 sure in 2002.

yeah...its getting better and better.Being pro active and exercising,sleeping right and eating well and taking my meds religiously has all helped 100%.

I think its so amazing how you guys feel about having HIV. It must take a really strong person to come with terms with the disease. I mean at first it must been so devastating. I don't know what I would do if I was diagnose with HIV. To me, I don't look down on people with HIV. Your right, its just like any other disease. I heard people lived for years with it by just living a healthy life style and being happy. But I wish the best of luck to you and keep your head up. I hope one day that someone finds a cure.
