Really? If you don't know how to get pregnant you shouldn't be having sex. You do not have to orgasm to get pregnant. While we are at it it also doesn't matter what position you're in or what time of the month it is. If you didn't want to get pregnant you should have been more responsible and been on birth control and using a condom...and definitely not letting him go inside you. If you aren't pregnant take it as a lesson and make sure to be more careful next time. Pregnancy is 100% preventable.

Hello Danielle,

Depo provera contains medroxyprogesterone which is a long acting but reversible hormonal contraceptive. When you stop taking the depo shots, it takes some time for your periods and ovulation (release of eggs by ovary) to return and in some women it has been reported to take at least 12-18 months for the periods to return.

Since you have stopped taking the shots in Feb 2011, hence you will take some time for the periods to return. However sometimes ovulation can return prior to periods and in that case, having an unprotected intercourse increases chances of pregnancy. I suggest you to get your serum pregnancy test done which measures the amount of HCG in blood. HCG is a hormone produced during pregnancy. Its levels will confirm the status of pregnancy.

I hope this answer is beneficial for you. Wishing you good health. Regards.

In my case I missed one shot of the depot, and it wasn't even one month after missing it,and I got pregnant..She is now turning 5 in July..So when Drs say it can take 12-18months Thats just a "rough estimate" it all depends on YOU,and YOU'RE body..You say it was 3 1/2 yrs ago when you had the depo right after birth?,and your only 18 now? Seems to me u would have learned ur lesson?
