Yes, if you had a period then you ovulated.

This answer is wrong. Just because you have a period it doesnt mean you ovulate.Depo stops your ovulation.

It probably is the depo messing you up. Any time you go on or off hormonal birth control you run the risk of having irregular periods until your body adjusts to being on or off the hormones.
Have you had unprotected sex since going off the shot?

What do you need more help with?
You didn't ask any other question. Are you wondering if you could be pregnant? If you had unprotected sex at any time after your last depo shot was due you could be pregnant.

You did not give enough information for anyone to answer your question. Are you still taking the shot? If not, how long have you been off the shot? And have your periods returned?
While on the shot, unless you miss a shot or take one late, there is only a 0.3- 3% chance of becoming pregnant.
At a recent visit with my gynecologist, my doctor told me that once a woman begins having regular periods again, she is ovulating and can become pregnant.
Until normal, regular periods resume, it will be unlikely to conceive but not impossible.

There is no way to know how long it will take for your periods to return. In general, the fewer shots you take, the quicker your periods return but this is not a guarantee. I was on the shot for 9 months and it took about 7 months for my periods to resume.

I decided to get on Depo provera, and took my first shot on Sept. 11th 2009. I decided not to get my next injection in Dec. b/c I just didn't like it... I got my period on Jan. 12th and it lasted about a week, then I got another one on Feb. 6th and it lasted about 5 days, I then had another period on Feb. 20th and it lasted about the same amount of time, and dreadfully now I just started again on March 3rd... I don't know what's goin on with my body, I don't know if I'm ovulating, and I can't tell how many days are in my cycle... me and my boyfriend are trying to get pregnant, but I don't know what I did to my body... I just need some help from ANYONE who reads these posts, cause I really want to get pregnant

I think doctors need to make it clearer how drastic a method the depo shot is. There are so many women posting on this site who decided to have a baby several months after taking the shot, their doctors could not have properly explained how this works. I had a great gynecologist who plainly spelled out to me that I should not get the shot if I planned on being pregnant within four to five years. This timeline takes into account how long it takes for normal periods and fertility to resume. (This does not mean that it will take this long for every person, but it does bring home the long lasting effects of the shot.)
There are posts here and all over the Internet on ways to 'flush' the shot out of the system and become fertile again quicker but since none of them have the backing of any reputable medical organization, I do not recommend them to anyone. But feel free to do a search here and try some of the suggestions if you feel they will do no harm. I wish I could tell you something more that would help you but all I can say is give your body time to return to normal. Good luck.

on depo 11yrs no period for 3, can i get pregnant?
I was on the depo shot for 11 years and I went off it almost 3 years ago and still have not had my period. No spotting, nothing...i had very BRIEF unprotected sex the other night and he did not do his business inside me but I am worried about being pregnant as I am way to old for children..if I have not gotten a period then I do not know if I am ovulating..I had a fertility test done over a year ago and the doctor said I was still fertile..could I possibly get pregnant?

I've been on the depo shot for 24 weeks and i missed my third shot and had un-protected sex twice, the second week of not having it, and had my period during that 2 week time. is it possible that i could have ovulated and produced an egg sense i hadn't had the shot while i had my period? I can not find anything on this.
