Treatment for panic attacks comes down to this:
1. You can get prescription, pharmaceutical medication(s).
2. You can see a cognitive behavioral therapist.
Medications are less likely to make the panic and anxiety go away...b/c the symptoms are more likely to return once you stop the meds. CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) has less side effects and it is more likely that the panic will NOT return after treatment. Either way, YOU NEED TO BE TREATED.
I suggest therapy, because you will
1. learn what causes panic attacks
2. learn to breathe differently to reduce anxiety and panic
3. learn how to handle panic thoughts
4. test your new abilities in low-anxiety situations, then higher-anxiety situations
This sounds like something that you can do and benefit from.
