i have problems with my tongue which has lesions around and on the tongue for close to a year now. i have taken daktarin mouth cream and mouth paint-candid anti fungal topical fluid but there is no improvement i am 27 year old African female. i want to know if this is allergic reaction or microbial infection. there is burning pain especially after taking carbonated drinks such as cocacola, or drinks with citric acid or even foods with chilli. But it's worse when i wake up and I can see whitish geographical patterns on the tongue and along the side of the tongue. My dermatologist looked at my tongue and prescribed daktarin which had no curative benefits as the lesions worsened and are now spreading to the back of the tongue near my throat I have not yet done biopsy. on many occasions the lesions disappear and the tongue appears normal then other times it looks really bad but there is no pain. could this be due Lichen planus? or could it be a case of allergy?
