I have tons and tons of bad experiences
from dental practice in the US vs. Jordan
or Palestine.
I had filling in US which resulted in pain
and doctor would give me antibiotics and
mouth wash. But, when I went to Jordan
the doctor replaced the white filling with
silver one, and smoothened out the tooth
and I had zero pain. So?? Tell me what is
wrong here..
However for now, I like to ask if it is
normal to have an ache where the needle is
injected before dental work for almost 2
days now??
Please share your experience!
Thanks!

Hi there, arashid!
I've been to multiple dentists over the
years and I can tell you that some are
just better, I think, at managing their
patient's pain than others are (regardless
of location).
The dentist I first went to at the
beginning of last year ignored me when I
said I was in pain during a filling, but
the endodontist I had to see, later, made
sure I didn't feel a single thing during a
root canal procedure (which is supposed to
be more painful). I also didn't feel
anything when having other cavities filled
by a different dentist earlier this year.
In regards to the needle ache, I've had 2
separate experiences where the site of an
injection was sore for several days
(almost a week in one case) after having
dental work done. If you're concerned, I'd
say by all means call your dentist and
ask, but I don't think it's unusual if the
needle was in a sensitive area (it
especially seems to be the cheek area, for
me).
