Q: Delaying Period

I'm delaying my period by 1 week by starting straight on a new pack of pills instead of taking 7 days off. But after that week, do I continue taking the rest of the 21 pills. Will I need extra protection? And after i finish my 2nd pack, do I take a 7 days off again or will I need to eat into the next pack of pills to complete the 28 day pill cycle.

Can I just take a week off for my period whenever I want to?
thanks Smile

If I were you I'd just skip it altogether, not just delay it for a week. Does that make sense? You don't really NEED to have a break for your period. If you want to skip it, just skip it, and start the next pack right away.

But however you decide to do it, you need to take at least 21 active pills at a time. So after (if you choose to have your period) you do have your 7 day break (period) you will need to take at least 21 more pills in a row (which means 7 more active pills from your next pack, if I'm reading this correctly).

No, you can't take a week off whenever you want to. You always have to take at least 21 active pills, and then no more than 7 days off. You can take 31 active pills, or 46, or 92, whatever you want. But not less than 21 (three weeks). And when you do have a break for your period, it can't be longer than 7 days.

Any time you mess around with your schedule, you might have some spotting/breakthrough bleeding, and that's normal.
