I'm new to this board and this could very
well be a stupid question..but for the
past 3 months my period is up to a week
late every time..ive had sex once but it
was almost 2 months ago and it was
protected. I have been off of BC since
december but ive never had sex without
protection. I just finished my finals for
college and i do admit for the past few
weeks i have been stressed so much. I have
on and off again cramps and lower back
pain and acne these are all the signs i
get before i get my period. im 5 days late
on my period and ive taken 3 preg. tests
since i last had sex and all were
negative..I really dont think im pregnant
i just want to know why i could possibly
be late every month? Thank you

It could be stress, change in your diet,
exercise. It could be a # of things. As
long as you are getting them that's still
a good thing. You can talk to your doctor
if it's bothersome for you about your
options.

How old are you and how long have you been
getting your period?
It could just be that your cycle has
changed slightly. My cycle is naturally
about 35 days- I always used to worry that
it was late until I realized that was just
normal for me.
Or diet changes/stress (which I know are
both a part of college) can play a part,
too.
Good luck!

Im 20 years old...im already 8 days late
=/ but all my preg tests say
negative..could stress be pushing it back
this far? Ive done no dieting and i havent
been gaining too much weight either...idk
everyone tells me not to stress but im
just a stressed out person all the
time...and when it comes to my period i
get real stressed because since ive been
of BC (december) ive had nothing but
problems.

get cramps on and off as well as my usual
pre-period back pain =/

Period tried to start but failed!!!! Posted: 05-30-08 05:29am
I started my periods when I was 13 and I
am now 40. I have always had very heavy
periods which have led anemia. I am on
iron tablets still and have been on and
off over the last 18ys. I have also
suffered from very bad pms which has
destroyed my life. My periods have been
pretty much regular around 21-24 days but
yesterday a very strange think happened to
me that has never happened to me in my
life before. I had my normal pms as usual
and then yesterday I started my period. It
was just a very tiny amount of brown blood
on the tissue & then absolutely
nothing. No period & no blood!!! so I
am a bit shocked. I wonder if I have been
going through an early menopause. I'm
going to wait till next month to find out
what is going on. I know I am not pregnant
for sure. Also does anyone know if
symptoms of menopause are related to PMS
or BPD at all? I haven't been under any
stress lately & I am eating normally.
I remember my mother going through a very
early menopause & I heard it can be
hereditary. Can anyone help or is it too
soon to tell?

I forgot to mention that I have also been
suffering from terrible bouts of very hot
flushes where my cheeks will be burning.
