Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The stress of surgery can cause delay in periods. Other causes might include hormonal disturbances, inflammatory causes, autoimmune conditions etc. If the periods have been delayed for more than 10-15 days from expected period dates, you should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation and assistance. If the surgery involved the reproductive system manipulation (removal or handling of uterus, tubes or ovaries) the delay can also be attributed to the surgery. Further assistance and management can be decided after careful evaluation.
Take care.
